Dundergo a cleansing ritual arranged and paid for by the family.
Explanation: Breaking a taboo is understood to bring pollution and ancestral displeasure on the whole family, not only on the offender, so the remedy is a cleansing or appeasement ritual, usually involving a beast or brewed beer, performed by the family and often directed by a n'anga. Exile, police fines and public repetition are not part of the practice.
