Why did the use of a striking symbolic action not by itself prove that a prophet's message came from God?

Explanation: Hananiah broke the yoke from Jeremiah's neck and delivered the opposite message in exactly the same form. The prophets themselves therefore appealed to the moral content of a message and to whether it came true, rather than to the technique used to deliver it.
